Dubbo is unique and positioning itself as the gateway to the west with the Regional Rail Project providing a significant and positive contribution to this endeavour.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Dubbo is considered a warm temperate climate which displays characteristics of a humid subtropical climate. As such summers are hot and winters are cold bringing frequent and heavy early morning frost. Dubbo experiences mild distribution of rainfall and high evaporation rates comparable to the Central Tablelands and Central Western Plains. The local landscape character is heavily influenced by the climate with exotic temperate favourable deciduous trees species dominating the surrounding urban landscape. Prior to European settlement Dubbo’s natural landscape comprised a distinctive and diverse Eucalyptus woodland character dubbed the Grassy Box Woodland considered an endangered ecological community in which we plan to restore during this project.
