The surrounding bushland of Henry Lawson Cave and Flat Rock Creek provides the inspiration for the landscape character of the development.
The design draws the qualities of the surrounding landscape into the site, creating a strong connection between the new residential community and its natural setting.
Native planting and enhanced biodiversity extend the character of the adjoining bushland through the development, helping integrate the built form into the landscape while creating valuable habitat and opportunities for local fauna.
TOPOGRAPHY
With approximately 15 metres of level change from Garland Road to the northern boundary, the site’s distinctive topography becomes a defining element of the landscape response. Terraced spaces and stone-clad retaining walls reference the exposed rock faces and escarpment character found throughout the surrounding landscape.
The material palette takes its cues from the natural textures and earthy tones of Henry Lawson Cave and Flat Rock Creek. Natural timber, stone feature walls and exposed aggregate concrete create a robust and timeless palette that reflects the local vernacular and reinforces the development’s connection to place.
